‘Twas the Night Before Christmas

‘Twas the Night Before Christmas

‘Twas the night before Christmas, when throughout the store

All was calm and bright on the floor.

The wreaths were hung on the windows with care

To celebrate Christmas at Famous Footwear!

The shoes were nestled all snug, side by side

The Christmas rush was over and they felt satisfied.

So they turned to each other and said, “That’s a wrap!”

And got all settled in for a pre-Christmas nap.

When out in the parking lot, there arose such a clatter!

The shoes sprang from their boxes to see what was the matter.

Right to the windows, they flew in stride,

And toes pressed to the glass, they peered outside.

The man out front, they knew without pause,

Well, it had to be jolly old Santa Claus!

But why, oh why, was his sleigh so adrift?

(He was making a last-minute stop for the perfect gift!)

With a twinkle in his eye and light in his smile,

He strolled into the store to shop for a while.

And as the shoes scurried to greet him in the aisle,

Santa stepped right up and called them out by style!

“Now, sneakers! Now, sandals! Now, slippers and booties!

On, boots! On, boat shoes! On, all of you beauties!

To the sleigh you go, to the sleigh you all!

You’ll be the jolliest presents—what a great haul!”

And just like that, he was out the door in a flash,

Onward and upward in a mad, magical dash.

Only this time, on his worldwide cruise,

He brought along some brand new shoes!

Now you know who to thank for your new kicks

(And where good old St. Nick gets his shoe fix!)

May your holiday season be merry and bright,

Merry Christmas from Famous Footwear, and to all a good night!
